Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions.
Dates/Times
Friday, September 25, 2026, from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. at Moore Park (7473 Church St., Irmo)
Saturday, September 26, 2026, the parade starts at 9 a.m., and Moore Park is open until 5 p.m. or until the Main Stage band finishes.
Parade Info & Guidelines
The Strut parade takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, on St. Andrews Road. The parade route is between Crossroads Middle School and Irmo Elementary School. Please plan to arrive early as St. Andrews Road will be shut down at 8:45 a.m. for parade traffic. Emcee Hannah Burbank with WIS-TV and the Okra Strut Parade judges will be set up at the Fully Promoted parking lot at 7249 St. Andrews Road.
Parking
$10 parking (debit/credit card and Apply Pay only - no cash) is available in the gravel lot on the left when you enter Moore Park. Plug 7473 Church Street, Irmo, SC 29063 into your GPS to get you to the fun!
Please note: Irmo Police Department may be guiding you to Carlisle St. off Lake Murray Blvd near the entrance to Loveland Coffee to park inside Moore Park.
Free shuttles will be running every 20 minutes from the Irmo Wellness Center (7182 Woodrow St., Irmo) and Union United Methodist Church (7582 Woodrow St., Irmo). There is NO CHARGE to park at the shuttle lots. Shuttles start at 6 p.m. on Friday Night and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Pickup locations: Blue Shuttle at the Irmo Wellness Center; Red Shuttle at Union United Methodist.
Handicap Parking: Free handicap parking is available inside Moore Park (7473 Church St.) for the Okra Strut. A valid handicap placard or license plate is required. Please notify the parking attendants as you enter.
Admission
The festival is FREE to attend. There is a fee for parking at Moore Park (no cash transactions for parking). Many vendors will charge for goods so make sure to bring debit/credit cards for food, drinks, shopping and amusement rides. Vendors may accept cash or card payment (TBD by each vendor). We will have ATM’s at Moore Park for your convenience.
Rides
Join the fun at the Family Fun Zone in the grassy field near Shelter 1 in Moore Park. Wristbands will be on sale at the ticketing booth in the Kids Zone. No CASH SALES. Debit and credit cards ONLY.
Amusement Pricing:
Individual Ride = 1 ticket ($5 each ticket)
Unlimited Wristband (Friday Only) = $25 each
Unlimited Wristband (Saturday Only) = $25 each
Unlimited Wristband (Friday & Saturday) = $40 each
Food Vendors
World's Greatest Funnel Cakes, SweetLife, Lake Murray Irmo Woman's Club (Fried Okra Booth), Palmetto Fizzery, Ken's Famous Italian Ice, Canal Coffee Company, Matties Sweets, O'Shields Concessions, RSS Foods, Kona Ice, Five Star, Caribbean Grill, Crazy Nutz, Steak Boys, Rick's Lemonade, Kirby's Kandys, Nonnie's Pops, and Liquid Assets (Beer & Wine).
Pets
Due to security concerns in the park, NO PETS are allowed in the Okra Strut. Please understand these are special rules for the Okra Strut due to the amount of people that attend our festival We love your pets and want them to stay safe! Thank you for complying with this rule.
Coolers
We do not allow attendees to bring their own coolers or outside food and beverages. We will have food and drink vendors with a wide range of offerings. This event raises money for community projects and local scholarship funds, so we thank you for understanding and your generosity.
Chairs and
Blankets
There will be seating around Moore Park and in front of the Prisma Health amphitheater. You are welcome to bring your own chairs and blankets if you wish. We encourage you to get comfortable and stay a while!
Road Closures
The following roads will be closed Friday, September 25, 2026, starting at 12 p.m. until Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:30 p.m.

Eastview Road (S-40-2382) between Battery Road and Lake Murray Blvd (SC 60)
Additionally, St. Andrews Road (S-36) from Wescott to Lake Murray Blvd (SC 60) will be closed for the Okra Strut Parade on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 8:50 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Payments
Okra Strut Commission Processed Transactions to include parking, amusements, Okra Strut merchandise: We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as contactless payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Outside Vendors (exhibitors and food vendors): Check with the specific vendor for the payment types they accept.

Sponsorship Applications and Payments can be mailed to the Town of Irmo at PO Box 406, Irmo, SC 29063, or dropped off at Irmo Town Hall at 7300 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063.
