Dates/Times

Friday, September 27 from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Saturday, September 28 the parade starts and 9 a.m. and Moore Park is open until 9 p.m. or when the Main Stage band finishes. 

Parade Info & Guidelines

Click link for parade participant information and guidelines. The Strut parade takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 on St. Andrews Road. The parade route is between Crossroads Intermediate School and Irmo Elementary School. Please plan to arrive early as St. Andrews Road will be shut down at 8:45 a.m. for parade traffic. 

Parking

Parking is available in the gravel lot on the left when you enter the park. Plug 7473 Church Street, Irmo, SC 29063 into your GPS to get you to the fun!

 

Please note: Irmo Police Department may be guiding you to Carlisle St. off Lake Murray Blvd near the entrance to Loveland Coffee to park you off of Moseley Ave. 

Admission

The festival is FREE to attend. Please bring cash for parking. Many vendors will charge for goods so make sure to bring money for food, drinks, shopping and amusement rides. We will have ATM’s at Moore Park for your convenience.

Rides

Join the fun in the Kids Zone in the grassy field near Shelter One in Moore Park. We'll have laser tag, a video game truck, an obstacle course, a large slide, amusement rides, and more! There is a fee for all amusements in the Kids Zone.

Pets

Due to security concerns in the park, NO PETS are allowed in the Okra Strut. Please understand these are special rules for the Okra Strut due to the amount of people that attend our festival We love your pets and want them to stay safe! Thank you for complying with this rule.

Coolers

We do not allow attendees to bring their own coolers or outside food and beverages. We will have food and drink vendors with a wide range of offerings. This event raises money for community projects and local scholarship funds, so we thank you for understanding and your generosity.

Chairs and
Blankets

There will be seating around Moore Park and in front of the Prisma Health amphitheater. You are welcome to bring your own chairs and blankets if you wish. We encourage you to get comfortable and stay a while!

Road Closures

The following roads will be closed Friday, September 27th starting at 12 p.m. until Saturday, September 28th at 11:30 p.m

  • Church Street (S-32-1292) between Lake Murray Blvd (SC 60) and Eastview Road

  • Eastview Road (S-40-2382) between Battery Road and Lake Murray Blvd (SC 60)

 

Additionally, St. Andrews Road (S-36) from Wescott to Lake Murray Blvd (SC 60) will be closed for the Okra Strut Parade on Saturday, September 28 from 8:50 a.m. - 12 p.m.
